Product Overview

PowerWalk was a lightweight, bilateral knee exoskeleton developed by Bionic Power to generate electricity from the motion of walking. Onboard control electronics analyzed gait and adjusted resistance so the device could harvest energy with limited disruption to movement. The system was evaluated for military field use as a way to reduce the battery load carried by dismounted personnel, and primary government and university reports describe low-volume units supplied for U.S. military trials. Bionic Power later applied technology from the PowerWalk program to its medical orthotic work, including Agilik. PowerWalk is recorded here as a historically significant tactical energy-harvesting exoskeleton, not as a current commercial product or a direct mobility-assistance device.
