Product Overview

FLOAT was a wearable upper-limb rehabilitation robot developed by IIT Rehab Technologies for assisted movement of the shoulder and arm. IIT's current FloatEVO page explicitly identifies FloatEVO as the evolution of the previous FLOAT system, which establishes FLOAT as a separate earlier-generation product rather than a spelling variant of its successor. The device belongs within the directory as a body-worn powered rehabilitation system intended for supervised therapy and research. Because IIT now presents FloatEVO as the subsequent platform, this record classifies FLOAT as historical and does not imply that the earlier model remains commercially available. Specific therapeutic outcomes are not asserted beyond the institutional description of the research system.
