Product Overview
HIMICO was the development name of a lightweight walking-assistance prototype created by ATOUN with wire-actuation technology originating at Panasonic. Sensors identified the wearer’s gait phase, while motors and cables provided assistance intended to follow natural walking without the rigid frame used by conventional lower-limb exoskeletons. ATOUN presented HIMICO publicly at CES 2019 and said the planned commercial name was ATOUN MODEL H. The project targeted walking support and preventive mobility training for older adults, but the available first-party record describes a prototype rather than a launched production device. Because ATOUN later ceased operations, HIMICO is recorded here as a historical prototype and not as a commercially available product.
