Evidence Notes

Core device architecture, intended use and functional capabilities are supported by current BAMA Teknoloji product materials. FreeGait is a supervised clinical rehabilitation system rather than a consumer mobility device. Therapeutic benefit statements from the manufacturer should not be treated as independent clinical validation. Early / limited clinical evidence: a small clinical trial evaluated FreeGait-assisted gait training in 14 participants with motor-incomplete spinal cord injury, with seven participants in the exoskeleton-plus-conventional-therapy group and seven receiving conventional therapy alone. The FreeGait group received additional exoskeleton walking and balance sessions three days per week. Several walking and mobility measures improved significantly within the FreeGait group; however, the study did not find a statistically significant between-group difference in change. This provides early clinical evidence but is not sufficient to establish definitive comparative efficacy. Study: First report of a new exoskeleton in incomplete spinal cord injury: FreeGait®, The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine (2026) 49(1):118–128; DOI 10.1080/10790268.2024.2426314; trial NCT06137456.
